information, in accordance with the Jamaica Data Protection Act, 2020 (DPA).

  • Who We Are - ​​We are a private cardiology practice based in Kingston, Jamaica. We are a registered Data Controller under the DPA and are responsible for safeguarding your personal information.

  • What Personal Data We Collect - We collect and process the following types of information:

  1. - Full name and contact information

  2. - Date of birth, gender, and national ID (e.g. TRN)

  3. - Medical history, test results, prescriptions

  4. - Insurance details

  5. - Appointment, billing, and payment information

  • Your data is collected and processed:

  1. To deliver safe and effective healthcare services

  2. schedule and manage appointments

  3. To maintain accurate medical records

  4. To comply with legal and medical regulations

  1. You have provided explicit consent

  2. It is necessary for medical diagnosis or treatment

  3. It is required by law

  • Your Rights Under the DPA - You have the right to:

  2. Correct inaccurate or outdated information

  3. Request deletion in certain circumstances

  4. Withdraw consent at any time

  5. Object to data processing under specific conditions

  • We retain medical and administrative records only as long as necessary for treatment, legal, or regulatory reasons.  When no longer required. Records are securely destroyed.

  • Sharing Your Data - We may share your information with:

  1. Medical labs, imaging centres, or specialists for treatment purposes

  2. Health insurance providers for claims

  3. Regulatory bodies when legally required

  • We ensure all third-party providers meet data protection requirements.

  • Data Security - Your data is stored securely using encryption, access controls, and password-protected systems. Our

       staff is trained in privacy and data security practices.

 

  • Breach Notification - If your data is involved in a breach that poses a risk, we will notify you and the Office of the Information

      Commissioner within 72 hours.
